"DGNO Depot" | Sunday Jan 16, 2011
This depot was originally part of the Missouri, Kansas, & Texas Railroad line, which arrived locally in 1886. The line crossed the Santa Fe Railroad line (Garland Eyes' photo of the SFRR Depot) that had been laid earlier that same year. Downtown Garland was established a little southwest of that crossing. Today the depot is part of the Dallas, Garland & Northeastern Railroad (DGNO), an important short-haul operation. In Garland, the line shares right of way with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).
